Tracking # 63 Industry Pharmaceutical Jobs Job Title Sr. Global Project Manager Location Mid Atlantic Salary Open Job Description The Senior Project Manager will work closely with the Team Leads providing coordination and leadership to key cross functional teams (both internal and with development partner) to ensure timely and efficient completion of project deliverables. This includes: § Monitoring global project status and schedules through facilitating multi-disciplinary project team communications by maintaining and tracking cross-functional timelines, deliverables, and milestones including cross-project dependencies. § Ensuring project schedules, resources, costs and underlying assumptions are integrated and aligned across functions and at a global level. § Tracking team performance metrics. § Driving/coaching cross-functional teams in problem solving and risk management and providing resolution to management team through leading/coordinating critical path analysis and optimization planning as needed. § Assisting teams and functions in determining schedule and resource requirements. § Conducting contingency planning/scenario analyses as needed. § Partnering with team leaders in arranging team meetings and agendas with input from team members. § Support departmental initiatives to improve processes. § Serve as liaison between the project team(s) and management group, particularly the project director. Prepare project management reports and updates as required by the project management process (e.g. project dashboard). Effectively communicate to appropriate stakeholders the project status & issues. § Supervise, as required, lower level project manager(s), including professional development and increasing competency in the role. § Actively participate in the development and implementation of best practices within the Project Management function and project team. § Actively promote the project management processes across all areas of the pharmaceuticals business. § Update leadership teams as requested, including participation and presentation in leadership meetings as required. SKILLS REQUIRED: § Experience in the management & leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams in the drug development business, where players are likely to be situated in different geographical locations. Have coaching skills to develop a high performing team. High level of working knowledge & insight into all phases of ethical pharmaceutical product development from discovery, through clinical development, product registration and launch. Knowledge & experience of product developments utilizing various pharmaceutical technology platforms. Technical competence to contribute positively to the quality of project decision making & recommendations. Thorough working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS project) & processes (e.g. project progress through phases & decision points). Working knowledge of current good manufacturing practice, good laboratory practice & good clinical practice. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and multitask competently. § Excellent oral & written communication skills. EDUCATION REQUIRED & DESIRED EXPERIENCE: § A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. § At least 5 years of project management experience and 5 years experience in drug development setting is required § A minimum of 8 years of project management or related experience (cross-functional management, CMC, Clinical Operations, or combinations) is highly preferred. § Demonstrated experience working with corporate alliance partners is preferred. § Strong knowledge of project management techniques and best practices relevant to the drug development process required. § Applied detailed knowledge of project scheduling, critical path/dependencies, resource, and risk management. Experience working with project management software (i.e.- MS Project, Planisware, Primavera, etc.) and proficiency with MS Excel, WORD and Powerpoint is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. This position is work office based and will also likely require domestic and international travel.
