Job Description
Experience in the management & leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams, where players are likely to be situated in different geographical locations.
Understanding & working knowledge of all phases of ethical pharmaceutical product development from discovery, through clinical development, product registration and launch.
Knowledge & experience of product development(s) utilizing a pharmaceutical technology platform.
Ability to facilitate & contribute positively to the quality of project decision making & recommendations.
Working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS project) & processes (e.g. project progress through phases & decision points).
Working knowledge of current good manufacturing practice, good laboratory practice & good clinical practice.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and multitask competently.
Excellent oral & written communication skills.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A Bachelors degree in a biological or physical science or engineering discipline.
Additional course work at the graduate level, which could include working towards/achieving Certified Associate in Project Management or Project Management Professional.
Training in project management techniques. Working knowledge of project management tools.
Working knowledge of current good manufacturing practice, good laboratory practice & good clinical practice.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 4 years experience in project management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
Work history to include “hand-on” experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams in a matrix environment.
Experience should include development of project budgets and timelines, and tracking/reporting to more senior management.
Experience with project management software & spreadsheets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead & manage multi-disciplinary project team(s) to deliver all levels of global projects end to end.
· Be responsible for the operational management of global projects and ensure that the overall plan & product performance requirements are met.
· Manage the project costs and the budget, ensure the right authorization is achieved prior to expenditure; in conjunction with the finance department, maintain burn schedule and keep financial reporting up to date.
· Lead the project team in the identification, management, mitigation, and resolution of project-related risks and issues.
· Facilitate and contribute positively to the quality of project decision making & recommendations.
· Actively lead project team(s) through each stage of the project process by communication and involvement.
· Have recorded accurate minutes of all meetings & distribute in timely manner.
· Serve as liaison between the project team(s) and management group, particularly the project director. Prepare project management reports and updates as required by the project management process (e.g. project dashboard). Effectively communicate to appropriate stakeholders the project status & issues.
· Supervise, as required, lower level project manager(s), including professional development and increasing competency in the role.
· Actively participate in the development and implementation of best practices within the Project Management function and project team.
· Actively promote the project management processes to the project team & key stakeholders.
· Update the R&D Leadership team as requested, including participation and presentation in leadership meetings as required.

This position is work office based and will also likely require some domestic and international travel.
